Brain Drain
I always say that I love training -- being the trainer that is. Now that I'm the one facing the whiteboard, I can truly, honestly say that having information crammed into you isn't a walk in the park. I felt like a total dunce in my ticketing class and I'm pretty sure that come ticketing time, I'd be staring at the computer screen blankly with glazed eyes. Or maybe it's because my trainer taught in Tagalog. I'm not elitist at all, but having spent 3 years in a call center with trainings conducted purely in English, I had a hard time absorbing the lessons. My call-center background conditioned me to absorb Tagalog as mostly chika-talk and not as a medium of education. Talk about colonial mentality. I'm sorry.
